Grace Hopper 2008

Recently, I went to Grace Hopper, a conference for/celebration of women in computing. About ~1400 women in computing-related careers (either as industry professionals or academics) attend. The weirdest thing about Grace Hopper is the swag that you get from the industry sponsor tables (especially since I typically go to technical conferences that don't give away freebies except the ill-fitting and sloppy conference t-shirts). Anyway, last year, my Grace Hopper conference bag contained a tampon holder with a company's logo emblazoned on it with the words "...at the bleeding edge of technology." Gross!

Anyhoo, Grace Hopper was hosted this year in Keystone, CO, and although it was awfully hard to find something to eat in a deserted ski resort, the surroundings were extremely beautiful:
